Sarvar Pediatric Clinic
This three story building near Mashad’s bazar, with a surface of 2900 m2, was built on a land belonging to the Alizadeh family. They donated the center to the faculty of medicine of Mashad that has transformed it into an outpatient clinic with a research center for thalassemia and hemophilia well known in the province of Khorassan.
Dr Sheikh Hospital
In 1990 Sarvar foundation reconstructed the old Dr Sheikh Hospital initially founded in 1951 with the name of N2 dispensary. This new four story hospital with 150 beds was donated to the faculty of medicine of Mashad. With its various pediatric sub-specialties it is considered as a reference in pediatrics in Iran. The different sub-specialties are : hematology, oncology, surgery, internal medicine, nephrology, dialysis, dentistry, reanimation and emergency medicine. There is also a department of pathology, a laboratory, radiology and outpatient consultation.
The subspecialty divisions of Dr. Sheikh Hospital are:
Hematology, Oncology, Surgery, Chemotherapy, Internal, Nephrology. Dialysis. Peritoneal dialysis. Dental under anesthesia. ICU and emergency.
The specialized departments are: pathology, radiology, laboratory, vascular test, dentistry, Urodynamics, and outpatient and inpatient clinics.
Akbar pediatric Hospital
Based on a thirty-year experience , and anticipating the increasing need in health care, Sarvar foundation with the help of other benefactors, decided to build a new pediatric hospital, the Akbar hospital in 2019. Situated in the south of Mashad, it was built on a land belonging to Mashad university with a surface of 10 hectares and infrastructures situated on a surface of 30,000m2.
This 7 story building with 5 different entrances is composed of :
– Ground floor : chemotherapy, physiotherapy et emergency units
– Mezzanine : classrooms for children
– 1st floor : Intensive and continued care units and 7 operating rooms
– 2nd et 3rd floors : 20 rooms with 65 beds and spaces for accompanying parents
– 4th floor : conference rooms and cafeteria
– 5th floor : technical installations
Social Assistance Unit
The social assistance unit of the Sheikh Hospital supported by Sarvar foundation has the following activities:
- Providing financial aid for hospital and treatment expenses
- inancial aid for medical insurances
- Providing medication and accessories for treatments
- Providing clothing and toys for children in need
- Organizing educational and recreational events as well as birthday parties, new year parties etc
- Financial aid for transportation to the hospital
Sheikh Hospital is supported by Sarvar foundation as well as other foundations such as Mahak (oncology) and Mohkam (for congenital pathologies), Tussi and Imam Ali foundations as well as private benefactors.
Accommodation house
A building next to Dr Sheikh Hospital has been donated to Sarvar foundation and to lodge up to 25 families of hospitalized children who often live far away. The residence is equipped with kitchens and bathrooms for families and they could stay as long as their children are hospitalized.
Scientific meetings
The foundation organizes a scientific meeting every two years to encourage exchanges and research in pediatrics, to identify and present talented researchers. During these meetings, cultural actors such as writers and artists who work for children are invited to make presentations.
Research projects of Bouali institute , a branch of Mashad faculty of medicine, are regularly sponsored by Sarvar foundation, resulting in significant advances in the detection of mutations in thalassemia patients as well as in the field of prenatal counseling.
